National Lutheran Schools Week Continues!
National Lutheran Schools Week (NLSW) provides the public opportunity to proclaim and celebrate God’s work among us here at Concordia Prep along with other schools of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. Please see the information below as we prepare to celebrate this week at Concordia Prep.

Weeklong Service Project
The School will be collecting canned soups for the Loch Raven Haven. Each grade will have a collection box to collect soup cans by tomorrow, Friday, January 31st at Noon. Middle School boxes are located by the Middle School building doors nearest the Quad. Upper School boxes are outside the Front Office. Any canned soups are welcomed.

Class Competitions
Class competitions will run during NLSW with the winner being announced at the pep rally on Friday, January 31st. Middle School Classes of 2029, 2030, and 2031 will compete separately from Upper School Classes of 2025, 2026, 2027, and 2028. Students can earn points by winning a spirit dress down day theme, placing in the Bible Trivia, donating canned soup for the Loch Raven Haven (one point per can), and pep rally game placings.

Spirit Day Themes
This week, students may choose to show their Saints spirit during NLSW and dress according to the day's theme, keeping in mind that the guidelines for relaxed dress attire will be upheld. Because these are themed dress-down days, students are permitted to wear hats or other appropriate accessories within the day's theme. If a student chooses not to dress according to the theme, they must be in the approved Concordia Prep uniform.

Spirit Dress Down Day Themes
  • Today, Thursday, January 30th: Soccer Mom vs. BBQ Dad (No cooking utensils or equipment are permitted.)
  • Friday, January 31st: Saints Spirit Day
Additional activities, including a Bible Trivia, seniors vs. faculty volleyball game, worship opportunities, and pep rally, will occur this week as well.

All Students Invited to Special FCA Huddle Today
Open to all Middle and Upper School students, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) extends the invitation to join together in the Bridges Media Center during Advisory for a special FCA huddle today, Thursday, January 30th. Attendees will hear about the intersection of faith and sports with special guest speaker Reid Ryan, Former Minor League Baseball Player and President of the Houston Astros, who will join virtually to share their stories and engage in dialogue.

Carnations and Candy Sales Next Week
The Student Government Association (SGA) will be selling carnations and candy next week (February 3rd - 7th) to share your love with your friends. For $2.00, all students can purchase a carnation or candy for other community members during lunches as well as before and after school in the Main Office. All purchased items will be handed out to the noted person on Thursday, February 13th during Advisory. Questions? Contact Mrs. Miller.
