Middle School

Explore, Grow, Succeed

At Concordia Prep, our younger students benefit from a collaborative environment with intentional learning experiences.

We offer a wide range of co-curricular activities, including sports, performing arts, and service opportunities, as well as meaningful student life activities and rigorous academic curriculum designed to prepare students for high school and beyond. Our Saints learn about and live our core values of faith, integrity, service, leadership, and community, serving as models of servant leaders who bring positive differences in our communities.

Saints learn through hands-on experiences both in and beyond the classroom.

Academic Programs

The Middle School academic program offers courses intended to develop not only content knowledge but also critical, creative, and abstract thinking skills. Concordia Prep guides students to become respectful, responsible, and reflective students and citizens. By exposing students to a wide range of courses, an emphasis is placed on the development of writing skills, analytic skills, and effective communication.

These middle school years serve as a bridge between grade school and high school. It is vitally important during these three years of middle level education that students are prepared for the challenges of high school. Concordia Prep benefits students by instilling a spiritual foundation built upon the Rock of Jesus Christ. With this foundation in place, our students are being equipped to go into ‘the real world’ knowing the true importance of faith, prayer, and Christian friends.

Required Courses

The School offers a rigorous, age-appropriate curriculum for its Middle School students, which consists of core courses including religion, science, social studies, composition and literature, math, and health-PE. Students also take two enrichment courses per semester from the following options: art, music, technology, drama, public speaking, foreign language, problem solving, and fitness. Students are placed in the appropriate coursework based on a placement test, previous coursework, and teacher recommendation.

Enrichment Electives

Enrichment and exploration are an important part of the curriculum. Because of the eight-class “drop schedule,” Middle School students can complete all core academic subjects and select from a variety of enrichment electives. A variety of enrichment courses are designed to provide students the opportunity to explore various interests and disciplines. Many semester-long electives are offered each semester along with a few full-year enrichment electives, like band and Spanish. Course offerings vary depending on student interest and faculty availability with intentional course selections across different disciplines, such as art, grammar, vocal and instrumental music, theatre, coding, robotics, engineering, strength and fitness, and public speaking.
