Support the Lutheran Mission Society Toiletry Drive
Help us support the Lutheran Mission Society Compassion Place by providing toiletry supplies that will be used to assemble care kits for their Fells Point Compassion Center. Through Monday, December 15th, we are collecting the following items: toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, soap, shampoo, body wash, deodorant, lotion, tissues, and toilet paper. Donated items can be placed in the labeled collection boxes on campus. Learn more or donate online here.
 
Music Department Christmas Concert Next Tuesday
The Concordia Preparatory School Music Department Christmas Concert will be held next Tuesday, December 9th from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. in Saints Gym. This is a culmination event of all our student choir and music ensembles.
Middle School One-Acts: Next Friday, December 12th
The Middle School One-Acts are an annual event in which Concordia Prep Middle School Drama classes come together to present short plays that they have been working on throughout the semester. The students have put so much effort into these two shows and are super excited to present them to an audience for one night only on December 12th at 7:00 P.M. Tickets can be purchased at $5.00 per person at this link. Due to limited space, each audience member can only purchase up to four tickets.
 
A Concordia Prep Christmas Next Saturday 
Designed for our community as a Christmas event with many festive activities, A Concordia Prep Christmas will be held on Saturday, December 13th from 12-3 pm in Saints Gym. This traditional event showcases Saints student performances along with students from other local Lutheran schools. In addition to music, this annual community event includes a Christmas Cookie Walk, winter art show, toy drive, Little Buddy’s Workshop for elementary-aged children and younger, and vendor tables with crafts, goods, and gifts just in time for the holiday season.
Orders Available for Concordia Prep Boathouse Jackets 
Boathouse jackets are an approved outerwear item and now available to purchase via this link through Sunday, December 14th. These will be mailed directly to the student's home in mid-February once the site has closed. Order boathouse jackets here.
 
Exam Schedule Available
The exam schedule begins on Tuesday, December 16th through Friday, December 19th for Upper School Students as well as any Middle School students taking one of the following courses: Spanish I, German I, Latin I, and Algebra I. Middle School students not taking an exam will have classroom activities during the shortened school days that week. The School dismisses at 12:00 p.m. (NOON) each exam day. View the exam schedule here.
 
The Saints Playbook Event on December 18th
Concordia Preparatory School invites all Middle and Upper School students to attend its first Saints Playbook event on Thursday, December 18th from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. This inaugural event will feature a panel of Concordia Prep alumni who will share their insights and answer questions about their college athletics experiences and the recruitment process. Please note that there is a Noon dismissal on this day as well, so students should be picked up at 1:30 p.m. when the event concludes. Reach out to Mrs. Miller with any questions.

Mascot Applications Now Available (8th-11th Grades)
We are excited to invite you to apply for Luther the SAINT Bernard, the Concordia Prep mascot, and become a part of the School's legacy. All application materials, which includes the online application and recommendation form, are due Friday, December 19th. Additional details and the application are available here
 
Personal Device Policy Reminders
As we prepare for the upcoming holidays, please be reminded of changes to our personal device policy for the 2026-2027 school year. Starting next school year, all iPads and other non-Windows tablets will not be approved personal devices for all grade levels unless these devices are included in formal learning accommodations. We strongly encourage all returning students to begin transitioning from the use of a tablet or iPad to a recommended device (i.e., Windows 11 laptop, Apple MacBook, or Microsoft Surface). A new, optional device purchasing portal is also available for families to assist with guidance for approved devices and preparation for this transition. Please contact the Technology Office via email with any questions about the new policy.

MIDDLE SCHOOL
Middle School Family Personal Device Survey Due Today
The Technology Office needs feedback from Middle School families! Please take a few minutes to complete this brief survey by today, Friday, December 5th about your Middle School student's personal device. If you have more than one student enrolled in the Middle School, please complete this form for each student.
 
Get Your Candy Grams!
Candy Grams will be sold next week for Middle School students only.  The cost is $1 per candy, and students are able to include a message. These will be sold starting on Monday, December 8th, in the mornings from 7:30-7:55 a.m. outside Mr. Miller's Office and during lunch in the cafeteria. The last day to purchase candy grams will be next Thursday, December 11th. Candy grams will be delivered that following week. 
 
Mock Spelling Bee Next Tuesday
The mock spelling bee to determine the three students who will represent Concordia Prep in the annual Lutheran schools spelling bee will take place next Tuesday, December 9th during Advisory.  Please meet in the Room 303 as quickly as you can so that we can finish on time.  
 
Middle School Christmas Party
The Middle School Student Council will host a Middle School Christmas Party on Wednesday, December 17th from 12:15 - 2:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. All students must be picked up by 2:15 p.m. as there is no EDP due to the early dismissal at Noon.  To participate, students should bring $10 in a marked envelope with the student's name along with submitting the RSVP form by Monday, December 15th. This payment covers pizza and beverages for all attending students, including a hot chocolate and apple cider bar. All other party materials for craft activities will be provided as well. 
 
In addition to crafts and other offered activities, students can choose to participate in a gift card swap game. Those who plan on participating should bring a gift card ($10.00 in value) that is wrapped/packaged. Please contact Mrs. Calheira or Mr. Miller with any questions. 
 
Middle School Christmas Celebrations
Middle School students will celebrate the Christmas season as a community on Friday, December 19th, during the school day. Friday, December 19th, will also be a Christmas-themed, relaxed dress day for the Middle School, with attire worn in accordance with dress code policy. 
 
We are asking students from each grade to bring a specific type of snack/treat to enjoy with their classmates. See below:
  • 8th Grade: Bottled Waters (No Juice) OR Fruits/Veggies
  • 7th Grade: Salty Snack
  • 6th Grade: Sweet Snack
Please do not send any items with nuts or peanut butter due to potential allergies. Safety measures will be taken to continue to keep our students healthy. Please contact Mr. Miller with any questions.
 
UPPER SCHOOL
Midterm Study Sessions Begin Next Week
Upper School students are invited to attend study sessions designed to support their preparation for midterm exams. All sessions will be held in the Bridges Media Center from 3:30–4:30 p.m., with each session dedicated to a specific subject or topic noted below. 
 
Study Session Schedule and Topics
  • Monday, December 8th: Getting Started (i.e., organizing study guides, general study skills) 
  • Tuesday, December 9th: Test-Taking Strategies and Practice (Math/Science) 
  • Wednesday, December 10th: Test-Taking Strategies and Practice (Math/Science) 
  • Thursday, December 11th: Test-Taking Strategies and Practice (English/World Language/Social Studies/Religion) 
  • Friday, December 12th: Strategies to Navigate Test Anxieties
Class of 2027 Ring Orders Due Date Extended
Juniors should order their class rings by Friday, December 19th. Orders must be placed by this date so that it arrives in time for the traditional Junior Ring Ceremony on Saturday, March 14th. Orders can be placed for basic school rings or customized school rings.  
 
Senior Survey-Action Needed
As we prepare for upcoming celebrations for your graduation, we need seniors to complete the Class of 2026 Senior Survey by Friday, December 19th, before Christmas break. Please make sure to use your Concordia Prep email to access and complete the survey.
 
Now Accepting Orders for Senior Banners
The Parent-Teacher League (PTL) has offered the opportunity for graduating students' families to purchase a senior banner. The banners will be displayed in the school hallways beginning in March to celebrate our graduating class and will be returned home before graduation day.
 
Banners are 32" x 15" and are $30.00 per banner. It would be great for all seniors to have a banner on display! To place your order, please complete the order form and submit payment. All orders and payments must be received by Friday, January 30th.
 
Submit Your Class of 2026 Baby Photos
Senior families are now able to upload their favorite photo of their graduating students. These will be included in the yearbook as well as other marketing pieces during graduation celebration events in the spring. Families should upload baby photos of their seniors by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 6th.
